Telltale Confirms The Walking Dead Season 3

Still Not Bitten Clementine

There will be a season 3 of The Walking Dead, confirmed its developer.

Good news for fans of Telltale Game’s The Walking Dead adventure game – at San Diego Comic Con Telltale president Kevin Bruner and The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman confirmed that there will be a season 3 of the game.

The confirmation was made at a special panel featuring Bruner and Kirkman, where they talked about the video games and the world of The Walking Dead. Details on the third season were scant, other than the fact that it would happen. We don’t know if it will follow season 2 protagonist Clementine, or another new character.

As for season 2, its currently on episode 4: Amid the Ruins, which was released earlier in the month. The fifth and final episode of the season, No Going Back, does not yet have an official release date, though hopefully we should have it by the end of the year.

The Walking Dead was a pretty huge breakout title for Telltale, mixing two genres that you wouldn’t normally assume would work well together (zombies and adventure games), and featuring some of the best writing I’ve ever seen in a video game.

Season 2, while not having quite as big an impact, has still been pretty top notch, so here’s hoping the quality of the game does not dilute any further with the third season.
