Telltale has announced release dates on all platforms for the delayed second episode of The Wolf Among Us.

Smoke and Mirrors, the second episode of Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us, is almost here. The first episode was released in October 2013 to great reviews. Delays at Telltale pushed back the release of the second installment, leaving fans frustrated, especially given a cliffhanger ending in episode one. On January 29, Telltale released a new trailer for the episode. Today, Telltale announced on Twitter the episode two release dates for all platforms. PC, Mac, and North American PlayStation 3 gamers can get their hand on episode two February 4, while Xbox 360 and European PlayStation 3 gamers wait an extra day, with release set for February 5. Telltale also says that the game will be released “next week on iOS AppStore.”

In January, Telltale promised that the several months wait between episodes would not be the schedule for the remaining episodes. “We are very concerned about the long delay for [episode two], but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays),” said a Telltale staffer. “It’s been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season.” The Wolf Among Us will have a total of five episodes, which can be purchased individually as they are released, as a season pass, or together once all five has been released.

Like Telltale’s episodic adventure game The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us is based on a comic book. Based on the Fables comics, The Wolf Among Us follows the former Big Bad Wolf, Sheriff Bigby, as he tries to protect the Fables, famous characters from fairy tales and other stories, from the world and themselves. The Escapist’s own Greg Tito reviewed the first installment, saying, “The writing in Wolf Among Us is just superb, full of jokes, clever storybook references and dramatic wit.” Look for his review of episode 2 on release day, February 4.
