This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Erica Mendez and Carrie Keranen lead the English cast of Kill la Kill as Ryuko Matoi and Satsuki Kiryuin.

Aniplex USA released a trailer for the English dub of Kill la Kill and a list of the full cast, bringing in both newer and veteran voice actors. The three-minute trailer gives both a summary of the anime’s plot and clips of the voices.

Erica Mendez (Aladdin in Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic) plays Ryuko Matoi, a vagrant high school student who’s looking for the person who killed her father. She comes face-to-face with the student council president of Honnouji Academy, Satsuki Kiryuin, played by Carrie Keranen (Mami Tomoe in Puella Magi Madoka Magica). Armed with only the scissor blade left from her father, Ryuko decides to go through Honnouji Academy to find answers and revenge. The rest of the cast is as follows:

  • Christine Marie Cabanos as Mako Mankanshoku (Also in Puella Magi Madoka Magica as Madoka Kaname)
  • David Vincent as Senketsu (Also in Bleach as Grimmjow Jeagerjaques)
  • Matthew Mercer as Aikuro Mikisugi (Also in Fate/Zero as Kiritsugu Emiya)
  • Sarah Williams as Nonon Jakuzure (Also in Puella Magi Madoka Magica as Sayaka Miki and in League of Legends as Jinx)
  • Patrick Seitz as Ira Gamagori (Also in Durarara!! as Simon Brezhnev)
  • Grant George as Uzu Sanegeyama (Also in Fate/Zero as Lancer)
  • Steve Cannon as Houka Inumuta (Also in Bleach as Toshiro Hitsugaya)
  • Lindsey Eaton as Mataro Mankanshoku
  • Michael Sorich as Barazo Mankanshoku (Also in the Ghost in the Shell movie as Ishikawa)
  • Erika Harlacher as Sukuyo Mankanshoku (Also in Toradora! as Ami Kawashima)
  • Todd Haberkorn as Shiro Iori (Also in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood as Ling Yao)

Three separate versions of the anime’s first volume will be sold as a limited Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with soundtracks (SRP $74.98, store price $59.98), standard Blu-ray (SRP $49.98, store price $39.98), and standard DVD (SRP $39.98, store price $29.98). The first volume will include episodes one through four and will release on July 15. The entire series will comprise five volumes.

Comparisons between the original Japanese and the English dub are inevitable, so what do you think of the English cast?
