A group of LEGO builders has worked together to recreate famous sequences from The Princess Ride.
You know what’s a delightful freaking movie? The god-danged Princess Bride. Sincerely, I challenge you to flip through the channels, stumble across it playing on cable and not start smiling. You won’t be able to do it. It’s just too lovable a movie, what with its humor, action, romance and greatest catch phrase of all time. The awesome factor of the film in mind, it was probably just a matter of time before someone gave it a proper LEGO adaptation.
The someones in question would be the builders group ChiLUG+ImpLUG+Friends, who recently unveiled a Princess Bride-themed build project at this year’s Brickworld event. The nine person group worked together to recreate famous scenes from the film including the duel between Wesley and Inigo, Wesley’s battle of wits with Vizzinni and the hero’s visit to Miracle Max, among others.
All in all, the Friends pieced together thirteen related builds, all of which were aimed at reproducing the most beloved parts of the film. Just personally, my favorite was the duel between Inigo and Count Rugen. Granted, I may be biased by my tendency to stand if front of mirrors saying “You killed my father, prepare to die” over and over again, but can you really blame me?
