World of Warcraft players will soon have the option to snuggle up to their avatar’s pet in real life.
Blizzard is adding two new pets to its store as The Gryphon Hatchling and Wind Rider Cub join the L’il K.T. and the Pandaren Monk. Instead of the digital download to simply receive your pet in-game, however, Blizzard is shipping plush versions of the Gryphon or Wind Rider, along with an avatar-bound code that will give your character access to the pet in the game.
The two original pets were each $10, with the Pandaren’s purchase giving part of the proceeds to the Make-a-Wish foundation. Although as of yet there is no confirmed price for the new pet and plushie combination, the L’il K.T. and the Pandaren both went for $10, so it seems reasonable to assume the new pets may be a bit pricier. There is also no word as to if the purchases will be tied to any charitable donations like the initial pet release was.
No word yet as to any specific release dates, but the pets will be available to both Alliance and Horde players. Naturally, they have no in-combat application beyond being absolutely adorable.
