First in a wave of new holiday bundles from Microsoft.
Microsoft is doing a full blitz on the holiday season this year, with what is sounding like an aggressive plan at retail to get more Xbox One units into homes. This week, they’re announcing five different bundles of the console.
The first, unveiled today, packages Rise of the Tomb Raider and its predecessor, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, with a 1TB Xbox One console for $399. The bundle is now available for pre-orders and will be exclusively available at Microsoft Store and Best Buy locations in the United States, and in other regions at participating retailers (excluding the UK, Canada, and China) when it hits shelves in November.
If you didn’t see that coming, with all the push MS has put behind their console exclusivity lock on Lara Croft’s next adventure, perhaps it’s time to book a visit with an optometrist.
The new SKU joins three other game-focused bundles already on offer, packing in Gears of War Ultimate Edition, Forza Motorsport 6, or forthcoming Halo 5: Guardians. Add in the Xbox One Elite bundle (with its solid state drive and customizable controller) and the rest set to be unveiled this week, and we can expect a total of nine different packages outside of the basic console options. If you were thinking about picking up an Xbox One this year, it appears you’ll not be starved for options.
