Hotline Miami 2 Could Be Delayed Until “Early 2015”

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Hotline Miami 2‘s Twitter account has confirmed the game might be postponed until “early 2015.”

If you’re a fan of pixilated ultra-violence (and honestly, who isn’t?) then Hotline Miami was probably one of your favorite games of 2012. Action-packed, bloody and more than a little tweaked in the head, it combined retro visuals and copious amounts of gore with challenging arcade gameplay that left more than a few players glued to their blood drenched screens. The original’s many fans lit up with excitement, in turn, when its creators at Dennaton Games announced that they were working on a sequel slated for a 2014 release. Sadly, it’s now looking like eager gamers will need to wait a bit longer than hoped to get their hands on the franchise’s next brutal chapter.

That, at least, is the indication of a recent posting on the official Hotline Miami Twitter account warning gamers that part two might not arrive until 2015. “Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is getting some final tweaks and polish,” said the Tweet. “Expected to be ready for late 2014 or early 2015.” The game’s account would follow up with another Tweet shortly after assuring gamers that their “patience is appreciated” and the final product will be “everything you hoped for and nothing like what you expected.”

Just personally, I’ll admit to being a tad disappointed by this delay. Hotline Miami is probably one of my favorite games from the past few years and I’ve been dying to get my hands on the sequel pretty much from the moment it was announced. That being said, if the finished game winds up being even half as good the original, it’ll be well worth the wait.
