Details Released for Shadow of Mordor’s Lord of the Hunt DLC

Tame new beasts and face new threats in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor: Lord of the Hunt.

Details on Shadow of Mordor’s first DLC pack, Lord of the Hunt, have been unveiled. In an interview with Kotaku, Monolith stated that the new downloadable content will focus on expanding the unforgiving wildlife by adding monsters, runes, and additional missions with Torvin, the dwarf hunter that taught players to ride Graugs in the original campaign.

New creatures being siphoned into the game will be the “Wretched Graug,” a variant on the original Graug that has the ability to spit poison, and the Caragath which is a sprier, stealthier version of the Caragor. Talion will also be given a new ability to control Ghuls, dominating any that he meets and gaining the power to summon a Ghul horde on command.

The showcase feature, however, is the new ability for Warchiefs to mount their own beasts. The new Beastmaster Warchiefs will be available in new showdown missions and custom missions to draw out the Warchiefs for battle. In order to defeat them players will have to dismount the Warchiefs before administering the coup de grĆ¢ce.

Although Monolith didn’t give a specific date, they said Lord of the Hunt would be available before the end of the year for $9.99 or as part of the season pass, which is still available for $24.99 and includes access to all current and future DLC content.
