These Hotline Miami 2 Comics Should Keep Your Murderous Rage At Bay

Hotline Miami 2 Comic 310x 2

The first and second of five planned issues are free on Steam, starting today.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is due out on PC and the PlayStation family of consoles next month (problems with the government down under or not). But if your decapitation itch needs to be scratched before its release? Devolver Digital has some comics for you. So please, put down the briefcase-turned-weapon-of-mass-murder, and put your reading glasses on.

Devolver and Dennaton Games have teamed up with Italy’s Dayjob Studio on a short run of Hotline Miami 2 comics. All five issues are coming to you for the low, low cost of zero dollars, and issues #1 and #2 can be found on Steam today.

The comics will take a long, hard, gory look at the backstory of the Hotline Miami universe, including the events of the first game. Some of the questions that might be answered include: “Who am I?” “Why am I killing everyone in this nightclub?” and “Will Geico cover all the damage done to my DeLorean while I was hospitalized?”

Perhaps more important than your trashed DeLorean, however, is how the comics tie in with Wrong Number. Factions are being introduced in the comics, and they will carry over into the forthcoming top-down shooter as well. Your days of lone-wolfing with a blood-spattered nine iron are over, it seems.

The comics come via a free reading app (which is what the Steam download entails), and the app will be updated with future issues automatically. Take a look at the comics, and leave your impressions in the forums. You can also take a look at the rest of Dayjob’s work on the group’s Projects page.
