Witcher 3 Dev Warns Against Downloading Latest DLC

Witcher 3 Ciri Costume DLC

Prematurely released content deemed not ready for public consumption.

CD Projekt Red announced previously that the developer is taking a week off from releasing new downloadable content for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, opting instead to release a beefy patch, bringing the game to version 1.07. Someone must have missed the memo, however, as a new “Alternate Look for Ciri” DLC item has become available in the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace.

Community Lead Marcin Momot addressed the appearance of the content via Twitter, stating that the alternate costume was released prematurely, noting that it, “wasn’t ready.” Momot encouraged users to refrain from installing the DLC until it is officially released.

It’s unclear at this time what (if any) problems might arise as a result of installing the content. Some users have reported issues loading their game after installing and then uninstalling the new costume, so perhaps it’s best to just hold off for the time being.

To date, more than a dozen free add-ons have been released for The Witcher 3 across all three of its available platforms. Three more are promised in coming weeks. Presumably, this costume for Ciri will constitute one of those remaining, but no official release date has been provided as of yet.
