Star Wars Battlefront will be a 23GB download on PS4, 19GB on Xbox One and 27GB on PC.
Video games are getting pretty big these days, and I’m not talking about their open worlds. All of the shiny new graphics and textures often come with a hefty file-size price tag, leading to games being upwards of 40GB. Thankfully, while Star Wars Battlefront is pretty big, it’s not quite as big as we expected from a studio who’s last game is pushing 50GB with the addition of all its expansions.
“Star Wars Battlefront will be a 23GB download on PS4, 19GB on Xbox One and 27GB on [PC]” Tweeted the official EA Star Wars Twitter. As for why there is a differentiation between the three platforms, it could be that the PS4 has higher quality textures than Xbox One (and PC’s are even higher), or that the game is simply really well optimized for its respective platforms.
This said, EA has not ruled out a day one patch, and if gaming history is anything to go by, the 27GB file size could balloon all the way up to 30+. The game’s earlier open beta was a 7GB download on consoles and 11GB on PC, although it only contained two maps.
Either way, it shouldn’t be too hard on your hard disk space, (or your internet cap for those of your poor souls that have internet caps) when the game launches next week.
