Minute of Islands Is a Decent 2D Puzzle Platformer – Review in 3 Minutes

Recommended Videos

Minute of Islands is a 2D puzzle platformer developed by Studio Fizbin and published by Mixtvision. You play as Mo, a young girl on a quest to repair a world on the brink of collapse. Paired with the Omni Switch, Mo must explore the archipelago and dark labyrinths to save her family and restore her world to normal. Be prepared to be challenged as you explore the islands, revisit family, and begin to unfold the dark truths that surround your home.

The game is a bit of a mixed bag. Studio Fizbin put a ton of love into this project, especially in terms of the visuals and world-building. The gameplay is easygoing and doesn’t offer mind-numbing puzzles, which can be hit or miss depending on expectations. Add the forgettable story that lacks a strong enough narrative, and you have a troubling combination. However, if you’re a fan of the aesthetics, enjoy relaxed gameplay, and have five hours to spare, Minute of Islands offers a decent experience for most.

The game is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Mac, and PC for $19.99.
