Axiom Verge 2 Gameplay Trailer Reveals Two Dimensions to Explore

A new gameplay trailer for Thomas Happ’s Axiom Verge 2 has been revealed, showing off some of the sequel’s many new features, such as upgradable moves, various hacking techniques, and a little drone friend to help navigate the world. There is also the dimension-shifting mechanic that looks to change the gameplay experience entirely by adding a new world — the breach. The trailer further reminds eager fans that Axiom Verge 2 is still on track to launch in 2021 (Q3, specifically). You can watch all the new features coming to the sequel in the footage below.

Happ took to the PlayStation.Blog to elaborate on what players see in the Axiom Verge 2 gameplay trailer. He said it will be a cohesive sci-fi experience and that it is almost like two games in one, with the overworld dimension and the breach dimension each having their own style and enemies. Players can enter and exit the breach, finding new ways that the worlds connect and share a relationship with each other. The breach, for example, has blocky tiles and organic enemies, while the overworld features more robotic adversaries.

Axiom Verge 2 was first revealed for PC and Nintendo Switch in December 2019, and it added PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions earlier this year. Originally set for fall 2020, Axiom Verge 2 was first delayed to launch in the first half of 2021 and later delayed again to later this year. Now, Axiom Verge 2 is expected to launch for the aforementioned platforms sometime soon.
