Devolver Digital and WolfEye Studios have revealed a Weird West release date of January 11, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Accompanying the western RPGs release date announcement is a new video that sees studio president and creative director Raphael Colantonio diving into some of the game’s mechanics and immersive sim elements. This initial Weird West video is only Episode 1 of a series that will continue to give players a better look at what WolfEye has in store. You can watch the “Road to Weird West” and release date announcement below.
In addition to the release date news, WolfEye and Devolver Digital have announced that preorders are now open to players on Steam. Those who pre-purchase Weird West will gain access to Calamity, a horse that doubles inventory size and gives players a few additional traversal advantages. Calamity also comes with a few items in his saddlebags, including lockpicks, bandages, a Golden Ace of Space upgrade token, and more.
Weird West comes to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in a few months, but until then, check out The Escapist’s preview from earlier this year. At the time, Marty Sliva said his hands-on time with the game left him “excited to dig deeper into the weird.” Also, read our interview with WolfEye, where Colantonio talked about his desire to leave players with a memorable, immersive experience.
