Rainbow Six Extraction Hits Game Pass Day 1, Ubisoft+ Coming to Xbox

Rainbow Six Extraction Hits Game Pass Day 1, Ubisoft+ Coming to Xbox

Ubisoft is bringing its alien-infested co-op shooter, Rainbow Six Extraction, to Xbox Game Pass for consoles, PC, and cloud on day one at launch on January 20. Announced via an Xbox Wire post, the reveal marks yet another major addition to Microsoft’s game subscription service but also represents Ubisoft’s growing interest in it. As an added bonus, Rainbow Six Siege, which is already available to play through Game Pass on console, will be available for PC subscribers on January 20. And on top of all of this, Ubisoft has announced plans to bring its own gaming subscription service, Ubisoft+, to Xbox consoles in the future.

Ubisoft+ has only been available on PC and cloud until now. It features access to more than 100 Ubisoft games, including major titles from the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry franchises. There’s currently no word on whether the publisher plans to bring Ubisoft+ to other platforms beyond Xbox.

Game Pass or not, Rainbow Six Extraction has been a long time coming. The spinoff was originally revealed with the name Rainbow Six Quarantine before Ubisoft eventually renamed the project last June. The game launches for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S later this month, and players will team up with one-to-two friends to exterminate and survive an infectious alien race that threatens Earth. Series veterans will no doubt find some of the playable characters familiar, but alien enemies will shake things up with different types and abilities. A gameplay deep dive last year showed how Rainbow Six Extraction will play out when it lands on consoles, PC, and Xbox Game Pass in a few weeks.
