The Church in the Darkness is an isometric stealth action game from Paranoid Productions heavily inspired by the events surrounding the Peoples Temple and the infamous Jonestown massacre of the ā€˜70s. You play as Vic, whoā€™s asked to infiltrate ā€œFreedom Town,ā€ a socialist commune in the jungles of South America, in order to find his nephew Alex.

The world-building done here is great and the stealth gameplay continues to be fun on repeated playthroughs. The Church in the Darkness almost serves as a history lesson, making one of the most shocking headlines of the ā€˜70s into a noteworthy interactive experience. The game is out Aug. 2 on all platforms.
