Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is a space combat adventure game from Double Damage that serves as the prequel to 2015’s Rebel Galaxy. You play as Juno Markev, a roguish jack of all trades who recently lost her spaceship in a botched attempt at collecting on a dangerous and personal bounty. With little money and limited resources, you must set out across the galaxy to find your fortune.
The “space western” may be well-worn territory, but this game enhances it with a genuine appreciation for the joy of flying a spaceship. If you don’t mind the initial grind and pacing issues, you’ll fall in love with the game’s deep customization and dog fighting mechanics. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is out Aug. 13 on the Epic Games Store.
