Octopath Traveler II Collector’s Edition Preorder Starts on Switch, PS4, PS5

At the September 2022 Nintendo Direct, Square Enix announced Octopath Traveler II, the sequel to the successful 2018 RPG that pioneered HD-2D visuals. However, in addition to coming to Nintendo Switch, Octopath Traveler II is actually also coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on the same release date of February 24, 2023. Square Enix has further announced you can now preorder Octopath Traveler II on Switch, PS4, and PS5, including a special physical collector’s edition.

The Octopath Traveler II Collector’s Edition comes with the game in its standard box, a 44-page size-B5 hardcover art album, an “Extended Battle Tracks” mini OST, and a set of eight gorgeous bust figures depicting the game’s eight protagonists. There is also a background in which to place the bust figures that depicts a map of the continent of Solistia. Here are some additional details about the mini OST:

This mini OST includes 24 variations of Extended Battle Tracks, with unique intro melodies for each of the eight protagonists, which play when taking on a strong foe. This is a special CD with song variations not included in the complete soundtrack which will be sold separately.

Across Switch, PS4, and PS5, the Octopath Traveler II Collector’s Edition costs $179.99, so this product is essentially for super fans. However, Square Enix sometimes does not release its awesome collector’s editions in the West at all, as was the case with Live A Live, so it’s terrific that we have that option.
