You can get Prime Status as a new player by buying it directly through Steam on the CS2 store page for $14.99. It’s a one-off purchase, and it’s worth it for the improved matchmaking (fewer cheaters) and all the extra rewards.

  1. Open the CS2 game page in the Steam Store.
  2. Choose the “Buy Prime Status Upgrade” option.
  3. Go to your basket and use one of the available payment methods.
  4. Launch the game so the Prime status will be enabled.

Players with Prime Status have access to ranked matches, primarily play against other Prime Status players, and can receive exclusive items. Prime matchmaking is considerably better, too. Since you will be playing against others who paid for better matchmaking, you can expect fewer trolls, which is already a win. Most players with Prime Status take their matches seriously, making the CS2 experience much better overall.

Is Prime Status Worth It?

Prime Status is generally considered worth it for serious players who want a better matchmaking experience and the potential to earn valuable drops. While it doesn’t guarantee a cheat-free environment, it significantly reduces the chances of encountering cheaters compared to non-Prime matchmaking.

That’s all there is to know about Prime Status in CS2. If you are a hardcore, competitive player, you will significantly benefit from having Prime Status. If you’re a newer player, try out the game for a while and see if it’s for you first. If you think you’d benefit from improved matchmaking and intend to play this game for a while, it might be worth it since Prime Status is not very expensive in CS2 anyway.

And that’s how to get Prime Status in CS2.

CS2 is available now.
