The Last of Us Part 2 is getting a fresh drop of information during Sony’s next State of Play presentation.
Confirmed by developer Naughty Dog’s creative director, Neil Druckmann, with a rather ominous tweet, we now know that the Sept. 24 video will finally give us a fresh look at one of PlayStation 4’s most anticipated titles.
We’ve been silent for too long. It’s time to put an end to that. pic.twitter.com/73BO5O9ZWC

Sony only just announced the upcoming State of Play yesterday, and it sounds like the company isn’t planning on holding back. Naughty Dog has been almost totally silent for the last year when it comes to its progress on this game. Seeing some more gameplay for The Last of Us Part 2 during the presentation seems almost inevitable. Of course, it couldn’t hurt to hope for a release date announcement too, right?
The last PlayStation State of Play premiered 13 minutes of new announcements on May 9. Despite past presentations following a similar format, this next broadcast will be 20 minutes long and will sport an all-new look. A post on the PlayStation blog says to expect “new game reveals, new content from PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios, and a host of other updates,” though don’t bet on seeing anything PlayStation 5-related.
Sony’s PlayStation State of Play is set to go live on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. PT, 4 p.m. ET.
