Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Get DLC?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 doesn’t relegate its ending to downloadable content unlike, say, Dead Rising 4. But if you loved the game, as most people did, you might be wondering will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 get DLC? Here’s what you need to know.

Will Insomniac Release DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s creative director has talked about the possibility of a Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, which we’d buy in a heartbeat. However, he’s yet to mention DLC and I doubt it’s happening any time soon.

It’s true that Marvel’s Spider-Man got a three-episode DLC campaign, “The City That Never Sleeps,” with the first episode arriving a month or so after the main game was released. But that DLC was advertised ahead of time, with an optional season pass.

This time around? There’s no mention of a season pass, no attempt to pre-sell upcoming DLC, nothing. You can bet that if DLC was just round the corner or arriving any time this year, Insomniac and Sony would have advertised it.

That doesn’t mean we’re never going to get any Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC. The game is set to be a smash and the prospect of more money is one hell of a motivator. But Insomniac isn’t known for putting out shoddy DLC.

The one piece of DLC I would like to see is something that ties into Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine game. In the comics, Miles Morales hasn’t worked with Wolverine all that much, but there are issues and issues of Peter/Logan shenanigans for Insomniac to draw upon.

As for sidequests, I’d definitely play a Venom spin-off, as well a Silk spin-off. Though as far as Cindy Moon goes, unlike Miles, she doesn’t have any powers, at least not yet. I feel Silk is more likely to crop up in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.

So, the answer to will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 get DLC is, so far, no.
