Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been out for a few days now, and it’s pretty good. One thing the game excels at is its depiction of Miles Morales, who is of African-American and Puerto Rican descent. However, someone from Insomniac Games who worked on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 screwed up, as a flag hung up in his apartment depicts Cuba, not Puerto Rico.
This news comes our way via Kotaku, which compiled a list of X posts calling out the error. One such X post, by user JayRock, does a great job explaining the Puerto Rican flag’s significance, especially in the borough of Brooklyn:

Thankfully, Insomniac Games is on the case, promising a fix soon. Its director of community and marketing, James Stevenson, said as much to X user Dantes61680:
It is somewhat surprising to see this slipup, as a lot of the game pays great tribute to Miles’ heritage. He is constantly speaking Spanish with his mother, Rio Morales, and one side mission in particular provides a great history lesson on African-American musical culture.
I am happy to see Insomniac Games address this Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 flag issue so quickly. Now, if they can just address the various bugs and glitches I’ve encountered during my playthrough, I’d be golden.
