Braid Anniversary Edition Revealed, Coming 2021

One of the highlights of today’s State of Play event was the reveal of Braid Anniversary Edition, a revamped version of the hit 2008 indie game. While a specific release date wasn’t revealed, we do know it’s coming in early 2021 and will feature improved visuals, along with extremely in-depth developer commentary. You can particularly expect to see higher-resolution artwork, much of which has been redrawn for this new version. Below, you’ll see images of how Braid Anniversary Edition will look compared to the original.

Here’s a Closer Look at Spelunky 2 and When to Expect It

We finally know when we’ll be able to get our hands on Spelunky 2, and it’s sooner than you might think. Launching for PlayStation 4 on Sept. 15, Spelunky 2 was shown off during today’s State of Play and it looks marvelous. In it, you’ll have a much more dynamic and varied experience — partly due to the enhanced level design that features new locations for you to explore. You’ll be able to play online with other players, recruit NPCs to your community, and enjoy a more “nuanced” in-game store.

The trailer below has tons of details about Spelunky 2.

Vader Immortal Launches on PSVR Later This Month

PSVR is about to turn to the Dark Side when Vader Immortal launches for the platform on Aug. 25. Vader Immortal is pretty much everything you’d expect from a first-person VR Star Wars game. It focuses on lightsaber combat and features a three-episode story, all of which will be included in this package. The story takes place between the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope and will be available for $29.99.

You can watch its release date trailer below:

Dr Disrespect Has Returned to YouTube, at Least Temporarily

Following popular streamer Dr Disrespect’s falling out and subsequent ban from Twitch, many were wondering where he’d end up next. Today, Dr Disrespect began streaming on YouTube, but maybe not in the way you’d expect. For hours, the streamer’s channel has featured a livestream of a stylized image of a gas station with a sports car and a mysterious song in the background. Additionally, the below video was uploaded. We expect YouTube will be his new home, at least for the time being. He currently has 1.89 million subscribers on that platform, so the audience is certainly there.

Something Call of Duty-Related Might Be Happening on Aug. 10

Reputable Call of Duty site Charlie Intel just tweeted an image of a package received from Activision, containing a crate with the message, “Do not open this crate until August 10 – 12PM ET.” The package contains instructions to send a text message to the number provided to receive a combination to unlock the contents of the box. Charlie Intel and many others speculate the contents of the box will feature information pertaining to this year’s Call of Duty game, which has yet to be announced. We’ll find out for sure next week.
