Koei Tecmo has announced that on Feb. 5, 2021, several Nioh titles will be releasing on PlayStation and PC platforms. Nioh 2: The Complete Edition will launch on PlayStation 4 and PC and contain the base game as well as all of the previously released DLC. The third and final DLC expansion for the title, The First Samurai, launches on Dec. 17. Additionally, The Nioh Collection is coming to PlayStation 5.

The Nioh Collection will contain Nioh Remastered: The Complete Edition and Nioh 2 Remastered: The Complete Edition, and both games will be available to purchase separately on the console as well. On PlayStation 5, these titles will support 4K resolution and up to 120 FPS gameplay.

Players who purchase Nioh 2: The Complete Edition for PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 version at no extra cost. Those who only have the base Nioh 2 game on PS4 can upgrade to the base game, Nioh 2 Remastered, on PS5 and will receive the PS5 versions of any DLC they own on PS4.

However, it is important to note that Nioh 2 Remastered and its DLC expansions on PlayStation 5 cannot be individually purchased. It seems like this categorization is only here for players who only have the base game but not all of the DLC expansions. Additionally, if you have a physical disc copy of Nioh 2, you naturally need a PlayStation 5 with a disc drive in order to be eligible for any current-generation upgrades.

For those who haven’t already experienced the franchise, The Nioh Collection appears to be a great way to jump in. Preorders begin Nov. 20.
