Godfall Is One Hollow Knight of a Looter Slasher – Review in 3 Minutes

Recommended Videos

Godfall is a looter slasher developed by Counterplay Games. After your brother tries and fails to kill you, you must fight your way through his army to stop him before he enacts the Right of Ascension and becomes a god. You’re told your brother is evil and that he betrayed you, but you mostly just have to take everyone’s word for it. Characters have dull personalities and no likable qualities.

Godfall’s gameplay relies heavily on acquiring loot but doesn’t give the player much to do with it. If a hack-n-slash game that rewards you with loot so you can hack-n-slash tougher enemies sounds fun, especially if you have a friend to play with online, you might enjoy it. Otherwise, there isn’t enough substance to sustain it.

Godfall is available now on PC for $59.99 and PlayStation 5 for $69.99.
