Gord, a Slavic Folkore Fantasy Game, Launches Next Year

A new IP based on Slavic folklore in a fantasy world called Gord will be debut on PC next year. The game is developed by a new Polish studio, Covenant, founded by former CD Projekt Red producer Stan Just. Gord is a single-player strategy game with survival, quest, and city-builder mechanics, coupled with procedurally generated scenarios.

In the game, players will lead the citizens of the Tribe of the Dawn into forbidden lands while also building a fortress to protect the population from enemy threats, monsters, and other mysterious entities. Side quests and random encounters are available that involve hunting legendary creatures and vanquishing scourges. Players can also customize scenarios and select aspects such as primary objectives, raid intensity, enemy types, weather, and more.

Additionally, every part of the population’s lives is in the player’s hands, ranging from illness and hunger to death of their kin. These facets can impact the daily lives of the citizens and affect their psychological states. There is also a book called The Chronicle whose pages are scattered throughout the game’s world. Dedicated players will be able to scour the world for its pages to discover more lore about the world of Gord.

Gord is Covenant’s first game, but it is also currently developing another multiplatform game that hasn’t been revealed yet.
