Hello! Caolinn here to bring you a bit more info about the Draenei.
That’s me.
Draenei start in Ammen Vale, a small area encircled by mountains on the Azuremyst Isle. Azuremyst is an island off the northwest coast of Kalimdor, just south of the Night Elves’ home.
Ammen Vale is not a bad place to have crash landed. It’s relatively secluded (though we did find some of those vile Blood Elves wandering about on our travels) which makes it pretty safe. The Vale is also quite pretty with rolling hills, a few rocky outcroppings, tall evergreens and beautiful waterfalls hidden all over the place.
And then of course, the terribly broken and crashed magical vessel is an imposing feature of the landscape. Pretty impressive, no?
As you may have noticed, the crystals from the vessel have scattered all over the place, and in fact seem to be causing some trouble in the area. In addition to the frequent thunder and lighting shooting from crystal to crystal (!), some of the local flora and fauna have … changed. You will need to collect samples from some of these creatures to help determine the cause and the cure.
And among the crystals and oversized, overly-aggressive orchids, are Draenei injured in the crash. You will find these other injured in your journeys and it is your task to heal them.
You get the impression, walking around, that many of your brethren may not have made it through the crash, and that there are many yet to be found. There is already a make-shift graveyard, and everyone around the crashed vessel is concerned for those injured and missing. The lone mourner in the graveyard tugs at the heartstrings, and calls to mind the long, painful past of the Draenei, the Exiled Ones.
After walking around a bit, getting my bearings and piecing together what’s happening through the various quests I’m given, I’m ready to move on. I hear of a place called Azure Watch, where others of my kind are.
