Bethesda’s unnanounced new title is a reboot of the iconic FPS: Doom.
When people heard that Bethesda was showing off an “unannounced new title” at E3 this year, people’s thoughts went to a lot of places, but I doubt many went to Doom, the iconic first person shooter. Well now Bethesda has revealed its mystery, and its a reboot of the franchise.
The short trailer shows features a lady talking about how we went and unleashed some terrible evil power (as humanity tends to do quite frequently in the video game universe) while a Cyberdemon is slowly revealed. It ends with a rather, familiar door-opening sound effect, and the title, which appears to simply be “Doom.”
The last time we saw Doom was all the way back in 2004, with the release of Doom 3. iD Software, the studio behind the franchise, was acquired by Bethesda parent company ZeniMax back in 2009. The trailer promises more information at Quake Con, 2014.
