While reporting third quarter results, Majesco has revealed plans to develop for the Nintendo Wii.
After abandoning the premium games market to focus on low-risk value titles, Majesco has praised the Nintendo Wii for offering a platform suitable to publishers looking to make cheaper games.
“We remain focused on our strategy to publish value products and lower-cost games for handheld systems and make products with mass market appeal,” said Jesse Sutton, Interim CEO of Majesco. “Looking forward, we believe that Nintendo’s new Wii console has excellent potential to capture the mass market gamer while remaining within our more conservative cost structure. As such, we are expanding our strategic focus to capitalize on the potential of this system, and currently have two Wii games in development.”
Bust-A-Move Revolution, scheduled to ship in early 2007, is the only game announced for the platform so far.
