Neversoft claims that while the PS3 version of Project 8 will be available at launch, it will not support online play due to a lack of information from Sony.
In a recent visit to Neversoft, IGN discovered that while Tony Hawk’s Project 8 will have full online support for the Xbox 360, it will remain offline on the PS3. “Neversoft is confident the PS3 version of the game will ship at launch in November, but it still hasn’t received all of the software libraries and has no indication of how the online components will work on PS3, so it’s not offering them,” claimed writer Douglass Perry.
In late August, Neversoft also commented that the Nintendo Wii version of Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam would not be online due to a lack of information from Nintendo.
First-party PS3 game Resistance: Fall of Man will fully support online play at launch for up to 40 players.
