Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed in a CNET video interview that there will be no secret, last minute announcements for the Wii before launch. Nintendo has also confirmed 32 Wii titles will be available by the end of the year.
With coy comments made by Nintendo in the past few months, fans were expecting an 11th hour surprise announcement before the Wii hit shelves. Fils-Aime has put those rumors to rest, telling CNET that as far as the launch goes, Nintendo has put all their cards on the table. He also mentioned that he has had a final production model of the console for two weeks now and re-confirmed Nintendo’s intention of having four million units by the end of 2006.
In other news, Nintendo announced that there would be 32 new games on shelves by the end of the year and 30 games available on the virtual console.
