According to Nintendo, owners of the Wii can expect 36 new virtual console titles from five classic platforms in the first quarter of 2007.
Nintendo’s “virtual console” service allows gamers to purchase, download, and play classic games from earlier consoles on the Wii. The games to be added will span 20 NES, SNES, and Nintendo 64 titles; seven Turbografx games; and nine SEGA MEGA DRIVE titles.
Some of the Nintendo titles headed for the console will include Mario Kart 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Street Fighter II: World Warrior.
The games will be available for purchase using the Wii points system, for 500 to 800 points each. 100 Wii points are worth $1 USD.
