Rockstar Games today announced the launch of the official Manhunt 2 website, giving gamers an early peek at the upcoming stealth/action game.
Available at www.rockstargames.com/manhunt2, the site currently features sceenshots, icons and the game’s first official trailer. For those who need no further convincing, pre-order links from various retailers are also available.
Manhunt 2 will be the first game from Rockstar London, who are developing the game in conjunction with Rockstar North, creators of the original Manhunt. The game will follow the concept of the original title, revolving around stealth and brutally violent combat, but featuring all different characters in a new story set in the Dixmor Asylum for the Criminally Insane.
More details regarding the game are expected to be released over the next few weeks, and early previews of the game will be shown at Fangoria Magazine’s annual Weekend of Horrors convention.
Released in 2004, the original Manhunt attracted attention for its gruesome, over-the-top violence, receiving Mature/18+ ratings in most territories, and was eventually banned completely in Australia and New Zealand.
Manhunt 2 is scheduled to be released in Summer 2007, on the PlayStation 2, PSP and Nintendo Wii platforms.
