Sega has announced Space Siege, a new title from Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games that will follow up their fantasy action-RPG title Dungeon Siege.
According to the announcement, Space Siege will see players take on the role of an engineer who can upgrade himself cybernetically at the cost of his humanity. The struggle to maintain your humanity in the face of the game’s challenges appears to be a central theme, and NPCs will react to you differently depending on your level of cybernetic enhancement. A four-player co-op multiplayer mode is also planned.
Formed in 1998, Gas Powered Games is best known for the Dungeon Siege games, the first of which was released in 2002. The company’s most recent release is the real-time strategy title Supreme Commander.
Space Siege is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2008.
