The Japanese division of Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that a revised Playstation Portable will be up for sale starting Sept. 20.
The firm date follows an E3 confirmation on the handheld’s worldwide September launch.
Dubbed the PSP Slim, the device will come in six colors including black, white, silver, pink, and blue. Its retail price is listed at JPY 19,800.
The new PSP weighs in at one-third of its predecessor’s weight and is also four-fifths its size. Similar changes have also recently been made to the latest revision of the PS2 Slim.
Load times have also been optimized and users can connect the device to their television sets.
In the US, consumers will be able to choose from different purchase packs, including a limited edition Daxter PSP Entertainment pack and a Star Wars branded model in October.
The packs will sell for about $200, while standalone units be priced at around $170.
