Ubisoft clocked in a major sales increase over last year, its CEO said.
In a drastic improvement over last year’s performance, game publisher Ubisoft has reported €134 million sales for Q1 2007-08, resulting in a 90.5 percent increase.
The figure also exceeded the forecast of €120 million.
Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, said the latest round of consoles, the PS3 in particular, helped fuel the growth. “Momentum was particularly strong during the period for European sales, which climbed 109 percent thanks to the ramp-up of new generation consoles and the impact of PS3 game sales, including Rainbow Six Vegas and Oblivion.”
For the next quarter, the forecast is €105 million. Quarter four is expected to see the release of Far Cry 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
