New studio Blazing Lizard lobs a new dodgeball game onto consoles in the first quarter of 2008.

Blazing Lizard Inc., a new studio composed of ex-Volition staffers, announced Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball, a downloadable title for an unconfirmed number of consoles. Built with Blazing Lizard’s proprietary engine, Infyrno, Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball is reinventing the sport, allowing competitors to roam freely across six arenas, combating and throwing balls against their competition from one of five teams (pirates, ninjas and three other races). Ballers can choose between Exhibition, Challenge and Story modes with up to four players on the same system or eight online.

Studio Director Chris Stockman said, “What more needs to be said when it comes to pirates vs. ninjas? This is the ultimate in rivalries, and we aim to have them settle it with all out balls to the wall action.”
