PS3 Orange Box Delayed

This article is over 17 years old and may contain outdated information

Valve’s Orange Box, which includes Episode Two, will be delayed.

The Orange Box has been delayed for the PS3.

The five-game compilation from Valve, comprising Half-Life 2, Episodes One and Two, Team Fortress 2, and Portal, was originally marked for a fall release in 2006 across the PC, 360 and PS3.

An alternative packaging for the PC was scrapped, and the Orange Box was delayed from fall of last year to summer of this year to a concurrent October 9 release.

But Valve Marketing Director Dough Lombardi has said that the PS3 iteration will miss that deadline “by a couple of weeks.” He declined to identify a specific cause for the delay and also did not provide a specific release date.

Some retailers have listed its arrival for November 13, though retail predictions on releases are rarely on the mark.

Electronic Arts is responsible for Orange Box’s distribution and porting it to the PS3.
