Nintendo representative Reggie Fils-Aime brushed off competitors’ price moves and promised a healthy supply of Wii consoles in time for the American holiday season.
In an interview with The San Jose Mercury News, Fils-Aime said Microsoft and Sony’s price-cutting maneuver affected one another, but not Nintendo’s cash cow.
“In terms of our competitors, what we continue to see is that 360 and PS3 essentially trade share as they alternate on price reductions. But, really, none of that is impacting our business,” he said.
The rep further said that the Wii will be available in numbers that surpass launch and recent stock, calling it “unprecedented.” But he also predicted that consumers will still encounter some difficulty in finding one.
