Strategy game developer Battlefront is seeking experienced beta testers for its upcoming Napoleonic wargame, HistWar: Les Grognards.
After nearly 10 years of research and development, the epic wargame is approaching completion and is now entering a final stage of testing. The company is looking for “skilled beta testers to help with putting the finishing touches on what is going to be without a doubt the new reference wargame for Napoleonic buffs.” Battlefront is seeking people who have participated in at least one beta test previously, who are knowledgeable about wargaming and the Napoleonic military era, and who are willing and able to download large files on a regular basis. Limited numbers of testers will be accepted, and should be available for the next three months.
HistWar: Les Grognards puts players in charge of a Napoleonic army during the period of 1805-1814. The game features an innovative three-tired AI system, accurate and detailed depictions of 19th century combat, and a large number of editing and customization options. The game supports solo play as well as LAN and internet multiplayer with up to six players, and also offers a play-by-email option with 15-minute turns. An official release date has not been announced.
Gamers wishing to participate in the test should send an application email including detailed system specifications to [email protected]. More information about HistWar: Les Grognards can be found at the Battlefront website.
