Testosterone-TV network Spike has announced the nominees for this year’s installment of its annual Video Game Awards program.
At the top of the list are BioShock and Halo 3, which each received seven nominations, including Game of the Year and Xbox 360 Game of the Year. Other game of the year nominees are The Orange Box and Mass Effect. The category of “Most Addictive Game Fueled By Dew” will be determined by online voting at Spike’s Video Game Awards website between Halo 3, Guitar Hero III, Wii Sports and The Orange Box. Addictive games that were not fueled by Dew were presumably excluded from selection process.
Spike, formerly known as The Nashville Network, TNN, The National Network and The New TNN, programs primarily for the “young adult male” demographic, focusing heavily on Ultimate Fighting mixed martial arts, professional wrestling, MXC and other machismo-centric entertainment. Spike is currently owned by Viacom as part of MTV Networks.
