Following reports from Sony and Nintendo, Microsoft has chimed in with its own sales statistics for the week ending November 24.
The Washington-based company reported more than 310,000 360s sold, according to a CNBC tech segment focusing mainly on the console’s hardware failure problems and a lawsuit filed in Southern California in connection with the issue.
The numbers would put Microsoft’s efforts within striking distance of the Wii’s own Thanksgiving week performance, which netted 350,000 Wiis sold – although Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime has said a failure to keep up with Wii demand has meant less sales realized than otherwise possible.
The 310,000 figure also comes in slightly behind an estimated 321,750 PS3s sold in the same period – though the latter number is an extrapolation based on Sony’s released percentages.
