The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has announced the latest inductee into its hall of fame: Blizzard Entertainment co-founder, president and CEO Mike Morhaime.
“This is a great honor, and I’m proud to receive it,” said Morhaime, who has contributed to the company’s storied roleplaying game franchises.
“The success that Blizzard Entertainment has had over the years would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and support of players around the world, and the passion and dedication of our employees, so I thank all of them for contributing to this achievement,” he added.
Morhaime is the institution’s 11th inductee, joining leading luminaries such as Sid Meier, Shigeru Miyamoto and Peter Molyneux.
Interestingly, he will receive the award from BioWare CEO Dr. Ray Muzyka, at a February 7 ceremony to be held at the Red Rock Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
