Korean MMOG publisher NCsoft promotes two of its top American executives.
Online games publisher NCsoft announced the promotion of Robert Garriott to a position in global business development and planning. He’ll remain in Austin, Texas and will be working closely with NCsoft’s Chief Executive Officer Taek Jin Kim.
Garriott will be replaced by new president of NCsoft’s North American business Chris Chung. Chung joined the company from NCsoft subsidiary, ArenaNet, where he managed the launch of the highly successful Guild Wars franchise. He later moved up to become the Chief Publishing Officer at NCsoft’s Seoul headquarters. Both Garriott and Chung will begin their new duties on January 1, 2008.
NCsoft Chief Executive Officer Taek Jin Kim commented, “We’re extremely pleased with Robert’s plans to become more involved with our global business development. The future for NCsoft is very bright and his leadership in this area will be a huge step forward for the company. Chris Chung is a strong leader who has been successful at every one of his stops at NCsoft. He’ll be a perfect fit for the North American publishing business.”
