Individual Rock Band Instruments Ship to Retail

MTV Games has published Rock Band packages with individual drums and guitars for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3.

MTV Games and Harmonix will be shipping new Rock Band packs featuring individual instruments to retail. The Rock Band Drum Kit will run for $79.99 on February 12, while the Rock Band Guitar Kit featuring a wireless Stratofender guitar will retail for $59.99 on April 1. The Stratofender and drums are compatible with both the PS2 and PS3 versions of the game.

Harmonix Chief Executive Officer Alex Rigopulos said, “The release of standalone instruments allows Rock Band musicians to enjoy the full Rock Band experience, including drum, microphone and guitar head-to-head modes, creating a whole new level of competitive fun. We’re also delivering a stand-alone wireless guitar solution for all versions of Rock Band as well as providing the opportunity for consumers to build their band one instrument at a time.”
