Activision has announced that new downloadable content is in the works for the award-winning Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare FPS.
The new content, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, will “thrust gamers into a hot zone of added combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales,” the company said in a statement. The new content is slated for release in spring 2008, over Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
“We’ve demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and that continues with our plans for new downloadable content,” said Robert Bowling, community manager at Call of Duty 4 developer Infinity Ward. “We’re excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can’t wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone.”
Released in November, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has sold more than seven million units worldwide, and was the number one title for worldwide unit sales in 2007, according to Activision. The game has received numerous accolades, including ten nominations for Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences awards. More information is available at www.charlieoscardelta.com.
