The PC multiplayer demo for Frontlines: Fuel of War has been delayed to an unspecified future date.

The full version of the game shipped in late February for the Xbox 360 and PC, with a demo for the PC version promised for March 11. The demo was to be built around the game’s final “Oilfield” map, as well as an all-new map entitled “Invasion.” However, in a post on the official Frontlines: Fuel of War forum, Kaos Studios Senior Producer Joe Halper wrote, “Today, both Kaos Studios and THQ have agreed to postpone the multiplayer PC demo. Studio development efforts are being applied to feature fixes and enhancements to support the existing community. Kaos Studios recognizes the overwhelming support the community has given since release and is doing everything they can to deliver the best gaming experience possible.”

Frontlines: Fuel of War is set in a near-future dystopia in which dwindling resources, particularly oil, lead to the outbreak of full-scale warfare between alliances of Eastern and Western powers. The game features six player classes and 60 vehicles, with support for multiplayer games of up to 50 players on the Xbox 360 and 64 players on the PC. Development of the PlayStation 3 version of the game was canceled, reportedly due to difficulties adapting the Unreal Engine 3 to the platform.

A new release date for the PC multiplayer demo has not been given.
