The post-Tom Clancy Tom Clancy era has begun as Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy’s HAWX, a new game that will revolutionize the way gamers think about combat in the sky.
Tom Clancy’s HAWX (High-Altitude Warfare) begins in the year 2012, as the rules of warfare continue to evolve at an accelerating pace while the world is engulfed in geopolitical upheaval. Nations around the world are growing increasingly dependent upon the mercenaries of private military corporations, even as concerns about their growing power beyond the oversight of traditional government structures continues to mount. In this world of high-stakes military gambits, gamers will take to the skies in over 50 of the world’s most famous aircraft, dogfighting over realistically-rendered landscapes blighted by years of post-war trauma.
Developed by Ubisoft’s Bucharest studio, Tom Clancy’s HAWX is the first air combat game set in the renowned Tom Clancy universe, featuring an Enhanced Reality System “that helps turn novice aviators into the elite pilots of the future,” as well as a user-selectable assistance mode, high levels of realism and authenticity and a revolutionary multiplayer option that will let players experience the entire single-player campaign via four-player “Jump In” cooperative gameplay.
“Tom Clancy’s HAWX marks the next evolution of high altitude warfare in the Tom Clancy videogame universe,” said Ubisoft Marketing Director John Parkes. “We are thrilled to take to the skies and provide a new environment along with an extension of a familiar storyline from our other successful Tom Clancy franchises such as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.”
Tom Clancy’s HAWX is currently slated for release in fall 2008 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. More information is available at www.hawxgame.com.
