Game publisher NCsoft and voice chat company Vivox have announced a deal to bring an advanced voice portal to NCsoft games.
The portal will provide “layers will have the ability to communicate with scalable, full featured voice within and across NCsoft games,” according to a Vivox press release.
It will also enable extra features such as voice mail, voice fonts and out-of-game communication like phones and text messaging.
“Voice is a significant feature for the ongoing development of the NCsoft community,” said Peter Jarvis, vice president of operations at NCsoft North America. “By partnering with Vivox, we will be able to offer our players a commanding set of communication tools that will simplify communications amongst the player base with far reaching options. Vivox is the clear leader in quality, features and operational excellence and we anticipate a successful integration and long-term relationship.”
NCsoft, based in Korea with U.S. development and publishing houses in Texas and California, was behind the publishing of popular Lineage and City of Heroes and Guild Wars series.
