A Korean company has created a vest with built in speakers for your MP3 player.

The vest, known as the Sound Walk, has speakers built into the shoulders and a pouch in the front for your music player of choice. A spokesman for AZA Extremes, the company that created the Sound Walk, said:

“Our products are made for the people who are using our products out doors. Even though the speakers are loud enough for the user, people standing just beside even won’t hear much because of where the speakers are placed, below the ear, on the shoulder… We have developed these products to help people to listen to music while they are doing outdoor activities or exercise,”

“Listening to music by earphone is a really big problem and a hot issue in every country because it can cause serious ear damages. Earphones also add to the danger when it comes to listening to music while doing exercise or riding, for example, a bicycle or motorcycle because they can block outside noises.” He added.

The vest, which has been in development for three years and runs off two AAA batteries, is available in a range of styles and colors, ranging from a simple harness-like garment to a slightly more sinister looking bullet-proof vest design. The AZA Extreme spokesman said that the vests would particularly appeal to people who liked the “military or cyber looks.”

The vests are currently available in Korea, and are soon to be launched in the UK and Europe. The company’s website can be found here.
